MSU Organic Farmer Training Program
The Michigan State University Organic Farmer Training Program (OFTP) brings together farmworkers, aspiring farmers, homesteaders, educational garden leaders and new farmers to share their farm goals and chart a course toward that vision. In 2022 the program was fully in person at the MSU Student Organic Farm. For 2023 the program has shifted to a hybrid format with participants learning hands-on farming skills in either Detroit or East Lansing, Michigan. In addition, the full learning community meets for interactive online class days and field trips to more than 20 farms throughout Michigan.
