Got Strings
Got Strings provides a violin to each child participating in fifth-grade general music. Community Music School mentors meet with students for one class period; students learn how to hold the violin, make a sound on it, and have an opportunity to hear it played professionally. The purpose of Got Strings is to spark students' interest in music, the instrument, and the possibility of participating in their school's sixth-grade orchestra program. Students are invited to come to the summer Community Music School Beginning Strings Camp or start learning an instrument ahead of sixth grade.
