I coordinate and facilitate semi-monthly meetings of the Michigan Association of Preventive Medicine and Public Health Physicians (MAPPP), a professional association of physicians working in Michigan's local and state health departments. These meetings focus on resource sharing, professional development, and collaborative problem solving. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this group has worked closely together to share any information, debate preventive measures, and develop consistent messages for the public regarding the role of public health and its response to the pandemic. As we come out of the pandemic, we are working on scholarly products to detail the efforts of this group as a possible best practice for other states.
