With my coordination the MSU CANR WorldTAP team organized this training virtually with 41 international participants on attendance. This six-day long (Nov 9-14, 2020) training covered various aspects of food safety including food safety policies, the US and international food safety laws and regulations, HACCP, CODEX, hazard analysis, food preservation and packing, biotechnologies to be used food value chain, etc. The goal was to educate participants to help strengthen food safety and minimize food borne hazards and also help address food insecurity and hunger.
I served as the course coordinator, recruiting participants and communicating with them, identifying resource persons, conducting pre- and post course survey, listening participants and addressing their suggestions/concerns, keeping track of time, faciliating Q&A, introducing resource persons, and managing educational materials, among others.
