The Sugarbeet Advancement variety trials are agricultural research trials conducted to compare several traits of different sugarbeet varieties. During the growing season, the Sugarbeet Advancement team worked to set up, plant, harvest, and collect data from several large plot variety trials. The information collected from these research plots was delivered to the farmers of the Michigan Sugar Company in the form of a printed research book and a virtual meeting. The goal of this research is to help growers select the best sugarbeet varieties for their farm, thus enable more sustainable production of sugar in the Great Lakes region.
