Rural Digital Inequities and the COVID-19 Pandemic
The project examines three questions:
1. Were students with broadband home Internet access and more digital skills better protected from declines in a) academic performance, b) educational aspirations, and c) psychological well-being, due to disruptions related to the COIVID-19 pandemic?
2. Have initiatives to improve broadband access in rural Michigan contributed to improvements in students’ a) academic performance, b) educational aspirations, and c) psychological well-being?
3. What lessons can be learned for the State’s broadband policy and measures aimed at increasing the resilience of Michigan’s K-12 and post-secondary education system?
