The summer virtual program was created to fulfill a need for our program to have a summer presence as we had been describing to the students throughout the previous year. They had to attend a certain amount of Saturday programs to be invited to our Summer Residency program, that was no longer happening.

The summer virtual program was a two-part program: first two weeks for middle school, last two weeks were for high school students. We hired 5 local teachers to create engaging curriculum in the core classes (math, science, language arts, social studies, art/health) and adjusted the curriculum to fit the middle from the high school students.
