We scheduled and executed 5 days of visits to MSU in Feb and March of 2020, before COVID forced us to cancel the remaining 5 dates of visits to MSU.

For the 5 dates, we managed to bring 6th-12th grade students, their teachers and in some occasions family members from the Lansing School District, to experience a day in the life of a college student. They visited the Wharton Center, Planetarium, Cyclotron, Historical Museum, Sparty and the Breslin Center. They were also able to experience lunch in Brody Cafeteria.

The purpose of these programs was to expose students to post-secondary education and the admissions process expectations set to apply. There were also opportunities for the MSU students that worked our program to share their own experiences on what it took them to become a student at MSU and they are able to maintain that status.

The goal is to educate and provide understanding to our audience about post-secondary education and life after high-school overall. It was also important for us to have MSU student staff that reflect the under represented populations in post secondary education- to continue to push diversity, equity and inclusion in a PWI.
